From award-winning director, producer and writer, Guillermo del Toro, was released in 2006, going on to win numerous film awards and earning widespread international praise.

The story follows Ofelia, a young girl who lives with her mother and stepfather. Her stepfather is noted to be closely tied to dictator Franco's regime and is portrayed as a brutal character. The film combines the real world with Ofelia's fantasy world, located in an overgrown labyrinth where she encounters the faun. Here, she meets several peculiar characters and has to overcome a number of trials and tribulations.

The events all spiral and come to a head, and ultimately Ofelia is faced with tough decisions in her final battle.
