    FAQ

    Frequently asked questions

    Visa

Do I need a visa to travel to Spain?
The citizens of the countries belonging to the European Union do not need a visa to enter all countries that are part of the European Union.
Citizens of many countries (United States, Brazil, Japan, Korea, etc.) can enter Spain for up to 90 days without a visa. If you plan to stay longer, you must apply for a Student Visa (type D) before traveling to Spain.
Students traveling to Spain from other countries should inform themselves about the requirements to obtain a visa at their nearest Spanish embassy or consulate.
For those students who do need a visa, once the student has paid for their program, Enforex will send out, free of charge and to any student who asks for them, the confirmation of the student's Spanish program and the invoice for the total cost of the program (course and accommodation).
Do I need a visa to travel to Latin America?
You may need a visa depending on the country you are traveling to, your nationality, and the time you will be studying in the country. Check with the website of the destination country or consult with your embassy.
What are the requirements for the student visa?
Valid passport, Enforex enrollment, health insurance, financial proof and admission letter. We tell you exactly what you need for your specific case after a free initial assessment.
How long does the student visa take?
Usually between 4 and 8 weeks from submitting the application at the consulate. With us, documentation is ready in 48h so you don't waste time. We recommend starting at least 3 months in advance.
Can I apply for the visa from Spain?
No. The student visa must be applied for at the Spanish consulate in your home country, before traveling. If you're already in Spain with a different immigration status, there are other possible options — contact us with no obligation.
What happens if I enroll in a course and then I do not get my visa?
Students who require any type of student visa for their course and have to cancel their course due to visa problems, must send an original, certified official embassy document. Once we have reviewed the documentation you sent us, we have a return policy for these cases, which you can consult by writing to us at info@enforex.com

    TIE (Foreign Identity Card)

What's the difference between NIE and TIE?
The NIE is your foreigner identity number (just a number). The TIE is the physical card that certifies it and identifies you in Spain. If your stay exceeds 6 months, you need the TIE.
How long do I have to request the TIE?
You have 1 month from the favorable resolution of your visa to apply for the TIE. After that deadline you may face legal issues. We notify you in advance so you don't miss any deadlines.
Can I travel within the EU with the TIE?
Yes, the TIE allows you to travel within the Schengen area. However, to return to Spain you also need your valid passport. Never travel with just the TIE without your passport.

    Extension

When should I apply for the study extension?
You can apply up to 60 days before your current authorization expires. Don't wait until the last moment — if there are issues with documentation, you need time to resolve them.
What if my visa is shorter than my Enforex course?
You can apply for a study stay extension to extend your authorization. The initial visa duration doesn't have to match the course length; the extension process synchronizes it.

    Work

Can I work with a student visa?
Yes, but you need a work authorization compatible with your study stay. The maximum is 30 hours per week and work must not interfere with your education. We handle this compatibility.

    Process

Do I have to go anywhere in person?
For most procedures, everything is digital. In some cases (like the TIE application) there's an in-person appointment at the immigration office — we prepare everything, tell you exactly what to bring and what to expect.
Do I need to register at the town hall?
For some procedures like the TIE you do need prior municipal registration. It's a simple process at your local town hall — we explain when and how to do it so it doesn't block your main procedure.
Where can I find out the location of the embassy or consulate of my destination country?
The website for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain (Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores de España) shows a complete list with the address of consulates and embassies in the different Spanish cities.
