In what situations might you need to know words to describe plants, flowers, and trees? Well, if you visit a national park in any Spanish speaking country it is likely that you will have a guide describing things to you, or at least be able to read some pamphlets or other information about the park and what to look out for when you are there. If someone wants to buy you some flowers or give you a gift which has a floral scent, you will need to tell them what your favourite flower is – and vice versa if it is you that is doing the buying. If you are allergic to pollen or to particular types of plants then it can be particularly important that you get that information across as soon as possible to those who need to know in order to either treat your allergy or prevent it from flaring up.
