Summer (December - February)
The various lakes and mountains surrounding Bariloche offer wonderful beaches and infinite summer sports opportunities: trekking, horseback riding, biking, climbing, kayaking, etc.

Winter (June - August)
Bariloche's ski season goes from June until October and its top-notch ski resorts - namely Cerro Catedral - are perfect for both downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding. Plus, be here in winter for the National Snow Festival (read below)!

This festival, held each year since the mid-1950's, involves all sorts of sports competitions on Cerro Catedral mountain, a spectacular night-time display of torch-bearing skiers coming down the mountain, a fireworks show, parades, food competitions, music performances, a Snow Queen beauty pageant, a wood-chopping contest and much more.
